The World English system makes your words as clear as possible

In the UK, 56% of adults find it difficult to understand every word of ‘standard’ English (the English that a 16 year old should understand). This may mean that they miss out on important public information, safety instructions, and sales messages.

What is World English? It is a system for writing that includes clear words, clear ideas and clear grammar. Most of the words come from a list of 2,000 easy words.

Who uses World English? Governments, businesses and charities use the World English system because they want people to read every word of their messages.

Example: The British Government is using World English to make sure that almost everyone in the UK can understand important messages about drugs. Before, the messages were in ‘standard’ English that people found more difficult to read.


Example: A business is using World English to sell its ideas in different countries in Europe. Many international business people speak English - but some have difficulty with reading. World English helps to take away problems in understanding and it is much cheaper than translating into several languages.
